Training Pets and Their People

Paws.... and think

Three Fundamental Principles

for Establishing a Firm Training Foundation

Training success can be certain, when truth is received and applied on a consistent basis.

Training, managing and interacting with our dog(s) based on reality enables us to reach the behavior goals we have for our dog(s).

1] Dogs do not think and feel as humans do.

2] Our dogs and puppies are dependent on benevolent leadership to be calm and confident.

3] Respect and trust in our well-intentioned leadership promotes our dog’s obedience.

It is necessary to resist the natural tendency to project our emotions, thoughts and attributes onto our pets. If we want to correctly interpret their behavior, keeping these principles in mind will simplify our endeavors.

Do not let kindness and truth leave you;

Bind them around your neck,

Write them on the tablet of your heart.

So you will find favor and good repute

In the sight of God and man.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart

And do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge Him,

And He will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:3-6
